The Mission
The Writer's Wake was founded on the belief that every writer's voice is worthy and that every writer should know their voice and feel confident using it. This confidence is often crushed at an early age due to structural emphases that educational systems enforce, such as discriminatory dialect preferences and grammatical pressures. The services offered at The Writer's Wake provide coaching and feedback that uplifts, or awakens, the writer. Whether you are a student writing an essay, an author writing a book, or an applicant writing a cover letter, I will treat your writing project with the respect it deserves.
Services at The Writer's Wake are priced significantly lower than the average costs because I believe that editing and writing support should be more accessible. If you still find yourself unable to afford a service, click the contact tab and request a financial aid application.
About the Services
Free Consultation
We recommend meeting with your editor if you have a lengthy writing project that will require either multiple virtual sessions or a multi-day editing process. Examples include books, theses, portfolios, and more.
Virtual Coaching
Best for writers looking to improve their writing skills. Popular among students. You will receive professional coaching and make efficient progress on your writing project. All projects welcome, at any stage: brainstorming, outlining, revising, editing or proofreading. Meetings are conducted via Zoom, camera optional. A report summarizing the session is included.
Independent Editing
Best for writers at the editing and proofreading stages looking for quick and detailed feedback. Receive both suggested edits and written feedback within 24 hours. A rush fee can be applied for those with tighter deadlines. If your project is longer than 20 pages, the editor will be in touch with you about a timeline.
